Pachelbel Nightmere

I have received several request for yet another blog about my dog, but no! No Kenny! I refuse to write about my beautiful dog this time.

This guy is a riot, he points out how Pachelbel's Cannon is pervasive in modern music, it really is worth it to hear the whole thing where at the end he has a montage of modern music set to Cannon in D so you can see the similarities. I figured Dale might enjoy this comedian since he played Pachelbel at our wedding!

I wish this was my music talent night skit!



FYI - If you search for "Pachelbel" in google this guy's video is #3! No wonder it has been viewed 2 million times!

Shelby Gets a Job

As you may have heard, I have been looking into modeling Shelby. A friend of mine (and fellow blogger Ivette) models her cat, and I know Shelby would be so beautiful on a bag of Iams dog food, or better yet in a commercial where she could eat something or be sleeping (she is really good at both of these things).

However things in our house have been a little uncomfortable ever since I brought this modeling thing up. Whenever I mention it to Shelby she runs into her room and locks the door. I assumed she was mad at me or was crying in there due to the pressure of having to go to work again. But, as it turns out Shelby had been using that alone time to start a business of her own. She has been taking business courses thorugh Trump University online, and has been writing her own business books (click on the image to the right).

It turns out that she is a very successful author, using her doggy wisedom to corner the business book market. And best of all, since she is a dog, she doesn't have to pay taxes on any of her income from the books!

We are so proud of her!

Music Talent Night Preparations

After last years very successful "Stand Up Comedy Night" I am making preparations for "Music Talent Night". As you may know a group of my friends got together and created our own stand up comedy routines (all original content). It far exceeded my expectations in the quality of the routines and I think everyone had a great time.

Well next is Music Talent Night. In preparation I will probably have to get back into shape to play something on the trumpet, but I have also ordered 5 recorders for a couple of group routines.

Having a decent musical background (combined with the fact that my class learned to play the recorder in 2nd grade) I was SHOCKED to find out that the recorder can play every note (including sharps and flats) for 3 octaves! It's a real musical instrument, not a toy. Which is pretty amazing considering they retail for $4.99, BTW - the recorders these days are translucent and come in blue, red, green, etc. You can also buy a tenor and bass recorder but they get pricey! I'll let you know more as we get closer to Music Talent Night this summer (we need a few months to prepare our acts!)

BTW - I believe we have someone who can play the saw as an instrument! Better put a hole in that wash tub (for a string bass!).
